Viento de Tango

The sextet Viento de Tango gained the attention of the Italian public when six classical musicians met for the first time, each of whom for fifteen years had been actively contributing both to the spread of the tango music of Astor Piazzola and the Argentinian culture in Italy.
The formation of the typical sextet in the history of Tango (two bandoneons, two violins, bass and piano) is the turning point that separates the period of the "Guardia Vieja" from the period of renewal and revolution started by the violinist Julio De Caro in 1924. De Caro headed the historic sextet that began the so-called "Guardia Nueva", the avant-garde prologue of all Tanguar of later generations.
The sextet Viento De Tango offers a vast repertoire of Tango, Milonga and Vals crolli in a fascinating show of music and dance (respecting the greats such as Astor Piazzola, Osvaldo Pugliese and Anibal Troilo, whilst also providing new and original versions). They lead the audience through the different and long historical and stylistic phases of Tango. Haunting and melancholic melodies mixed with agressive and energetic rhythms bring to life emotions incomparable, thanks to the experience of Viento De Tango.
